Bike Standard

The most important thing is to ensure that you have a bike that is safe and is the correct size and have a correctly fitted cycle helmet. Cycle helmets will not prevent an accident, but can reduce risk and damage.

For Bikeability levels 2 and 3 the bicycle must be in road worthy condition with an independent front and rear brake.

Although having gears on a bike is useful,  it is not essential for bikeability training.
